Common questions
Is "one dog year equals seven human years" accurate?
No — it's a myth. Dogs mature much faster in their first two years, then age more slowly. This tool uses the veterinary 15/9/plus guideline instead.
Why does breed size matter?
Small breeds tend to live longer and age a little slower after year two than large breeds, so the yearly rate is adjusted by size.
What about puppies under one year?
Enter a decimal (e.g. 0.5 for six months) — the tool scales the first-year rate accordingly.
